Getting to the grid

With the first testing session of 2016 set to take place in Barcelona from the 22nd- 25th of February, it’s time to look at who will be next to the grid ahead of the season opener in Australia on the 20th March.

Renault F1 introduced their new car on the 3rd of February and whilst reports are that Ferrari will launch around the 18th of February, McLaren are currently confirmed as next to the grid on the 21st of February, closely followed by Williams a day later.

Newcomers Haas also plan to showcase their debut car on the same date, whilst Sauber have earmarked the 1st of March.

Ahead of their car launch, Haas F1 have been putting in the ground work, building their team facility from scratch in just under a year!

Force India, Mercedes, Red Bull and Manor have all to announce their launch dates, ahead of the first race in Australia on the 20th March. 

Renault first on the 2016 Grid..

Renault have revealed their 2016 car as they return to the Formula one grid in 2016.  Kevin Magnussen comes on board following his impressive driving for McLaren in2014 .

The French team now known as Renault Sport F1 team launched their new car, the R.S16 in a live stream from Paris.  It's a new livery, predominantly black, with potential colour changes coming.

Magnussen will be joined in the team by Jolyon Palmer, the 2014 GP2 Series champion and son of former F1 driver Jonathon Palmer.   

The car will be put through its first paces at testing in Barcelona.
